  • Students can avail the loan up to 10 lakhs which can be utilized for completing their higher studies
  • Students appearing for competitive government can avail loan from this scheme for paying their coaching fees.
  • Students who wish to pursue their graduation, post-graduation, PhD or Post Doctoral PhD in India and foreign countries
  • Students pursuing their education from prestigious institutes like IIT, DU, IIM, NBU, NLU alongside aspiring UPSC candidates are also eligible to apply for this scheme.
  • Students who are willing to sit for competitive exams related to IIT-JEE, NEET, CLAT, GMAT, CAT, NET, WBPS, JRF can opt for the facilities provided within this scheme.

  • Simple interest rate of a minimum of 4% is charged from students
  • No collateral or security is required for applying for this scheme
  • Maximum Period for loan repayment is 15 years
  • Loan can be also utilised for both professional and personal expenses paying fees, such as purchasing a car, laptop or paying the house rent.
  • Candidates up to the age limit of 40 Years can apply for this beneficial scheme.
  • Students can avail of this loan from private, non-private banks and other cooperative organisations.

Eligibility Criteria For West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme

  • The person should be a responsible citizen of India and should have resided in West Bengal for more than 10 years.
  • Students studying in Class 10 or above are eligible for applying for West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme.
  • He/She should have a proper verification certificate which includes both Pan Card and Aadhar Card.
  • Brochure or Educational Document which covers all the educational expenses
  • Proper bank account details and income certificate needs to be submitted if the particular individual tends to work somewhere as a full-time employee.
  • Residential certificate which states that the candidate is from West Bengal.
  • Personal contact details including both calling and WhatsApp numbers along with a professional email address.
  • 8 Passport size photographs and Digital Signature for attaching it within the documents.

  • Step 5: Tap on Register which would generate a unique user ID and password. This set of details would be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Step 6: Keep all the essential documents ready with you which are mentioned in the above list along with the unique ID safely for completing the application procedure.

  • Step 7: Tap on the ‘ Student Login ‘ section for processing forward with the application form and enter the relevant student ID and the password.
  • Step 8: Tap on the ‘ Apply Loan ‘ option for availing of this scheme.
  • Step 9: Enter all the personal, professional, bank, and educational details of the borrower and the guarantee.
  • Step 10: Upload and Verify all the important documents within the mentioned file size.
  • Step 11: Cross Check all the details once again and Preview the form for final verification.
  • Step 12: Submit the form and check the details on the dashboard when it’s getting forwarded to the Bank by HED.
