Google now allows you to turn off auto image download on Gmail for iPhone. It aims for making the email conversation a tad bit more secure and private. While on the other hand if we see Android users had this feature a while ago, iPhone users can now stop images from loading automatically on the Gmail app simply by changing their account settings. This feature was updated on September 4, 2019, 10:38 AM IST (Indian Standard Time)

So when users are accessing their emails using the Gmail app on an iPad or iPhone they can now choose not to have images inside an email load automatically. This option is included in the setting menu within the app that will allow Gmail to block any images in incoming emails, including the invisible trackers that come usually with the image and also reduce the risk of malware that is often attached with the images in the mails.

This setting currently is only available for the iPhone users who have personal Gmail accounts and not for those who are under G Suite and not for enterprise ones also. For the users who are wondering, an update is already available on the App Store with a changelog which exactly explains you to how to find the toggle. You have to follow just a few steps to enable this for new upcoming messages which I will tell you how to enable in the following points:

  • First of all, you need to go to the settings
  • Then Specific account
  • Then images
  • And finally, select the option namely “Ask before displaying external images”

All the above points or steps are explained by the changelog itself.

The inclusion of this new setting in Gmail for iOS was pointed out by the verge which stems from a controversy in July when a former Twitter executive Mike Davidson that how a subscription email service was allowing users to track the location and time when an email was opened. Google has introduced the same identical image blocking feature on its web client for a while now. It was easy for the users of iPad and iPhones to know that their Gmail app did not have a similar toggle in place by default. It is one very easy point if you think about it that how automatic image loading can be sometimes potentially problematic. The main point in this involves is security of the users of iPad and iPhone users must not be neglected, the risk with automatic image downloading in emails is that if you someone attaches a malware with the image, that piece of malicious software also gets downloaded on the device, which can then remotely transmit your data.

More few updates are coming like Google will soon improve Gmail’s grammar correction with the help of artificial intelligence, as the company announced recently. Now Onward instead of clicking on Gmail’s dot menu in the lower right corner and choosing “check spelling” while you write the email, Gmail will start doing it automatically, detecting spelling errors and grammatical issues, and even autocorrecting some common spelling mistakes. This feature of Grammar check and autocorrect will be turned on by default but can be turned off by the user by entering Gmail’s settings. For now, this feature is only available for English. The engine used for powering the feature is the same one Google is using in Docs, where it was introduced in July 2018. This feature is only available for enterprise Gmail users. There’s no further information updated if it would be expanded to all Gmail users.

These seemingly minute improvements now join a host of other features in Gmail, introduced to block tracking, such as preventing a sender from locating a recipient through an IP address, etc.

This year in April Google’s Gmail service completed 15 years and now has more than 1.5 billion active users, which makes it the most popular email platform.

This feature has come into controversy anyways but people need to know that it is not a default feature so they will have the power to stop the images from loading automatically and also save much amount of data of the users

Gmail Blocks 100 Millions Of Spam Emails Using AI https://www.selectyourdeals.com/gmail-blocks-100-millions-of-spam-emails-using-ai/ https://www.selectyourdeals.com/gmail-blocks-100-millions-of-spam-emails-using-ai/#respond Thu, 07 Feb 2019 17:18:40 +0000 https://www.selectyourdeals.com/?p=1891 Surely if you get into the spam folder in Gmail unavoidably, you will have some unread mail (or many). Even users who take care of ourselves and do not register our emails on doubtful pages have spam, and it is a scourge that has been affecting us for a long time, almost since the beginning of the domestication of the Internet.

But how does Google, for example, to avoid this massive spam email? Because what we see is not one thousandth of what really happens every day: billions of spam emails are launched in the world. And Google has a very effective weapon against them: artificial intelligence.

The AI Against Spam: A Titanic Battle

Google has launched Tensor Flow, its machine learning technology to the task. Specifically, it is responsible for helping to train additional spam filters for Gmail users. With the new filters implemented last month, Google states that Gmail is now blocking more than 100 million spam messages every day.

Although these figures are impressive, can be somewhat short considering that right now there are more than one billion users with Gmail, so it does not seem to be enough. But in figures of the same Google, this is able to block 99.99 percent of spam, so in case these filters did not exist our folders would be full to the brim. We assume that this remaining 00.01 percent is the most difficult to detect.

But this is not new. Google has been using artificial intelligence to establish filters in Gmail for years, following a series of rules. These filters can block the most obvious and easy to detect spam, but being automatic learning, it looks for new patterns to distrust a malicious email. Recall that attackers do not stop trying to get these emails to users so the techniques they use are increasingly advanced and the AI must learn from it.

Google Gmail AI Became More Stronger By Tensorflow

All the metric data that these AI handle are very wide, from the format of an email to the time of day when it is sent. Tensor Flow, according to Google, facilitates the management of this data to scale, while the open source nature of this AI implies that the community can participate and that investigations of this can be included in Tensor Flow easily.

Google is tremendously proud of Tensor Flow, this is a free machine learning framework that allows the developers involved to create artificial intelligence tools for all kinds of purposes. It highlights its flexibility, the ability to scale, and of course its functionality and integration to perfection with the other artificial intelligence services of Google.

If someday there comes a time when we do not have to suffer thanks to this method, we will have to raise our hands as a celebration. The problem is that spam is like Tik Tok or those offended on Twitter: you know it’s there no matter how much you do not see it and want to avoid it.

AI Intelligence Smart Identification Of Pattern

  • The automatic learning allows detecting the spam thanks to the identification of patterns that can suggest that an email is suspicious.
  • Algorithms trained in this way balance a large number of metrics, from the format of an email to the time of day it is sent.
  • In this sense, it creates patterns in large data sets making it much more efficient than the rules established by Gmail.
  • Because of this mechanism, Gmail can quickly adapt to spam attempts that are constantly changing.
  • Tensor Flow is an Open Source library launched by Google in 2015 and has currently taken revelation in the environment of solutions based on artificial intelligence.
  • This advance allows Google to block categories of spam that previously cost more work to detect. By using Tensor Flow to scan mails, the company can now find emails created from images, with integrated content and messages from new domains trying to impersonate legitimate issues.
  • Machine learning helps Google detect patterns in large amounts of data that often go unnoticed. In addition, it allows it to adapt to new types of tactics used by those who send these types of malicious emails.

IOS User Can See Messages From Different E-Mail Accounts In One Inbox https://www.selectyourdeals.com/messages-from-different-e-mail-accounts-in-one-inbox/ https://www.selectyourdeals.com/messages-from-different-e-mail-accounts-in-one-inbox/#respond Thu, 01 Nov 2018 17:26:27 +0000 https://www.selectyourdeals.com/?p=1067 Gmail has now introduced a feature of iOS users that they will now be able to access all of their emails using a single inbox. This is probably going to be proved a great feature as it will cut a lot of manual from one account to other. One just has to go and select ‘’All Inboxes View’’ which will be available on the left side of Gmail and this will give the ease to the user to view messages from all the accounts.  Gmail Android app already had this function which was known as ‘unified inbox’. Now, fortunately, iOS users do not have to sacrifice for using this function as Google has come up with the same idea for them as well.

Messages From Different E-Mail Accounts In One Inbox

This new feature will be functional to all of the Gmail account that one will be adding to the Gmail iOS app. No matter it is your personal account or work account, you will be able to access the messages. This will be available in the coming week or within ten days according to the sources. Also, this feature does not have any fool play as across other emails, no account would be able to see the messages of the other account. Therefore, the privacy factor is intact with the Email.

Users of iOS have long been waiting for this function and finally, Google has introduced it for them. Recently, Google has come up with lots of changes with various of its functions. The latest being iOS mail viewing, another one was it introduced the news feed for mobile on its search homepage. Some people have supported the function whereas a large number of the users gave it a thumbs down. Let us see what other features Google comes up with for its Android and iOS users in the coming times.
