Vodafone now introduces a balance transfer facility from the postpaid line to a prepaid line. This will allow its postpaid customers to enjoy the offers provided in the prepaid line but both the prepaid and postpaid customers have to stay in the same circle. Unfortunately, you cannot do the same with users of another network. Currently available in Maharashtra and Goa, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka circles it is expected to set up in more circles in gradual stages. This is a special inventiveness to authorise the customers to assist them to stay linked always. This even allows the customers to control their spending and assure steady service. Steps To Transfer Balance From Postpaid To Prepaid Vodafone

Vodafone already allows its customer to do a prepaid to prepaid balance transfer by just dialling *130# and then simply following the commands at the IVR. One can also dial the alternative, i.e., *130#Amount*Recipient Number#. After the completion of the transaction, both the recipient and the sender will receive an SMS confirming the same.

Steps To Transfer Balance From Postpaid To Prepaid Vodafone

Step 1 ) Enter USSD code *130# on your phone you will get the following choices to choose from:

  1. Stop VAS
  2. Start VAS
  3. Song Change
  4. Email_ID Update
  5. Bill Pay Recharge & Balance Transfer
  6. Manage DND

Step 2) You will select option number 5 which will show you options for Prepaid Low Balance Services, which will again bring to you multiple options:

  1. Balance Transfer
  2. Balance Request
  3. Bill Pay/Recharge via Mpesa Account

Step 3) Type out 1 and hit the send button shown on screen.

Step 4) This will give you a place to mention the amount you want to transfer the required balance

Step 5) Follow the steps shown then you will be asked to put in the number of the user you wish to transfer the balance to. Finally, press enters and then, you’re done!

Balance Transfer Terms And Condition

While for a postpaid to prepaid balance transfer one can send a maximum of Rs 30 and a minimum of Rs 5 with a service charge of Rs 3 levied on the person sending the balance. One important thing to keep in mind is that a single recipient can receive up to three transactions maximum in a day. Nevertheless, one cannot send or receive more than a sum of Rs 1000 to/from a single postpaid line in a month. The one sending the balance should be a user of the network of at least 5 months. Accordingly, the one at the receiving end should also be a legit user of the network for 30 days at least.

The motive behind this is to benefit the post-paid customers of the company who have friends, family members, office staff or even domestic staff who are using the same prepaid connections under Vodafone who are in desperate requirement for balance. With a mere service charge on each transaction, this can come handy. Chief Commercial Officer of Vodafone India believes that this will address the untapped need within consumer groups, making the company more fit for addressing customer’s needs and wants. This is in an initiative to follow multiple schemes like “call me back”, “prepaid to prepaid balance transfer” and “chotta credit” services from the country’s second-best mobile operator.

Vodafone users can transfer the balance to other users of the same network using an app. All you have to do is download the My Vodafone App from the play store and log in. Simply open the app and look for the icon for balance transfer and select that. After that put in the Vodafone number to whom you want to transfer your balance. You will get various options stating the amount of balance you want to transfer like Rs 5, Ra 10, Rs 30, and other (for the amount above Rs 30). Select one of them and you’re done.

  • “Vodafone Balance Request Service” also allows you to notify the other Vodafone user to whom you transferred your balance to via an SMS.
  • *In an emergency you can simply avail Vodafone’s loan service using the company’s USSD code. Look for an article for the company’s USSD codes and take advantage of their various other services.*
