After Lockdown, BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) is planning for cashless and contactless ticketing.

During lockdown when BMTC is running emergency services mainly for hospitals and other essential needs, once the lockdown is relaxed BMTC plan is to run only Non-AC buses that to with half of the capacity to ensure that social distancing is followed and there won’t be regular tickets and daily passes, which involve cash transactions with conductors, instead of that they have planned for weekly passes.

Cashless Ticketing For BMTC

All the single trips Passenger can do the payment via online payment app (Google Pay Or Paytm) QR code will be displayed on all the buses and those who travel frequently can buy weekly or monthly passes from the bus stations.

To follow social distancing all the conductors have been asked to ensure that all the travelers form a proper queue while boarding the buses and both conductor, driver should wear masks and gloves all the time.

According to C Shikha BMTC managing director “All the buses will be properly sanitised and we have bought thermal scanners for each depot and are conducting health check-ups of all staff. Everyone, including drivers and conductors, will have to wear masks and gloves, Awareness messages will be displayed on buses”
