When Computer Is Locked

  • Step 1: Get ready with the Windows 10 installation disc or installation USB.

  • Step 7: As soon as Windows 10 opens into the sign-in screen, click on the “Utility Manager” which is located on the right bottom side of the screen. A command prompt will open up on the screen.
  • Step 8: Use “Net user command” to reset the Windows 10 local admin password or new admin account.
  • Step 9: Type the commands for Windows 10 local admin password “ net user iSunshare abc” and for adding a new admin account “net user Clara abc /add” then press enter and give this command “ net local group administrators Clara /add” then again press enter.
  • Step 10 : For restoring Utility Manager
  1. Shut the command prompt and place the on disc into the Windows 10 computer one more time.
  2. Restart your computer by clicking on the power icon and selecting the start option which is present on the right bottom side of the login screen.
  3. Once Windows 10 boots up successfully from the installation disc, a new “Windows Setup” window will be opened up on the screen.
  4. Press “Shift + F10” to go into the command prompt. The command prompt gives a command by typing “copy d:\utilman.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe”
  5. Press on the enter button, and then type “Yes” to restore the Utility Manager.
  • Step 11 : Using local admin account login into your Windows 10
  • Step 12 : Exit the command prompt, as well as the installation disc, don’t reboot Windows 10 normally.
  • Step 13 : Enter into the login screen to select the admin account for which you want to reset the password or the new admin account.
  • Step 14 : Sign-in into Windows 10 successfully.
