Solution 1: Recharge your BSNL SIM with sufficient balance to receive and send text messages. You can even recharge through IVR, local mobile outlets, BSNL app/website and various third-party platforms however we have listed the instructions for the app and the website considering that they’re the reliable ones.

Through BSNL App

  • Step 1: Log in to the BSNL App by filling in the necessary credentials
  • Step 2: Tap on ‘Recharge’ option
  • Step 3: Fill your BSNL number, Circle, GSN Prepaid, and Nickname in the dialog box
  • Step 4: Tap on the linked number
  • Step 5: Opt your BSNL Prepaid recharge plan
  • Step 6: Tap on Continue and make the payment. You’ll receive a confirmation message from BSNL stating that recharge is done on your BSNL SIM.

Through BSNL Official Website

  • Step 1: Open the BSNL official website
  • Step 2: Tap on the Select/State Circle option
  • Step 3: Choose the circle. For Example: West Bengal
  • Step 4: Compare different plans and choose one
  • Step 5: Tap on the ‘Recharge’ option
  • Step 6: Enter your 10-digit BSNL number, email address, alternate contact number, and captcha code
  • Step 7: Tap on the Submit button and wait for the recharge confirmation message

Subsequently, you can recharge your number through Paytm, PhonePe, Bajaj Finserv, etc as these platforms offer cashback, and discounts during festivals. You also get discount while making payment through credit cards.

Solution 2: Check your BSNL SMSC number through USSD Code or Message Settings. If it’s wrong then next enter the right SMS Centre Number and update it. Your issue will likely get fixed once you enter the correct SMSC number.

Solution 3: Reset your Network Settings to stop the outgoing message failure. The steps are listed below:

  • Step 1: Tap on the Settings icon
  • Step 2: Type Reset Network Settings in the search bar
  • Step 3: Choose Reset Network Settings
  • Step 4: Enter your phone password
  • Step 5: Tap again on Reset Network Settings displayed in red color. Your network settings will set back to default settings. You can now check if the messages are getting delivered or not. It’s most likely that your problem will be resolved.

Solution 4: Contact BSNL Support to activate your new BSNL Sim. You can also dial 53734 to enable BSNL VoLTE SIM which is available in selected metropolitan cities only.

Solution 5: Switch From 4G/LTE to 3G or 2G. If you’re using a BSNL 4G SIM then sometimes switching from 4G to 3G or 2G network could be the quickest solution.

  • Go to Settings > Mobile Network
  • Tap on the SIM Card which has BSNL SIM. It’s advised to keep the BSNL SIM in Slot 1
  • Tap on Preferred Network Type displayed under SIM Info & Settings
  • Move from 4G/LTE to 3G/2G or 2G only

Send a message after changing your network settings and check the results. However, get back to the 4G network after a while as staying on a 3G/2G network can create network hindrances.

Solution 6: Ensure that your device date and time settings are accurate. If not then enter the date and time in the right format to avoid outgoing SMS issues.

Solution 7: Switching off a device and restarting it again is the easiest solution to resolve this issue. Hold your power button for a while and tap on the Restart option. Once your device restarts again check if you’re allowed to send messages.

Solution 8: Only Android users can implement this solution. Tap on the Message App and click on the ‘i’ icon. Click on Force Stop under the App Info menu to forcefully stop the messages.
