Method 1: Reset NVRAM

Method 5: SMC Deactivation

-This technique is applicable for MacBooks which are launched in 2017 or earlier.

  • Step 1: Switch off the MacBook
  • Step 2: Altogether press and hold the control, option and shift keys when the MacBook is turned off.
  • Step 3: Simultaneously, altogether press and hold the power button while pressing those keys for 10 seconds.
  • Step 4: You need to hold all 4 keys for 10 seconds and then release them.
  • Step 5: Tap on the power button to reboot the MacBook.

-This technique is applicable for MacBooks which are launched in 2018 or later and comprises a T2 security chip.

  • Step 1: Switch off the MacBook.
  • Step 2: Detach the MacBook from all the power supply devices.
  • Step 3: Wait for 15-20 seconds and plug in the MacBook again.
  • Step 4: Press the power button of the MacBook after 5 seconds to switch it on.

It’s said that SMC also hampers the MacBook trackpad so we advise you to try these methods if none of them works that time.

Method 6: Choose Apple Diagnostics

  • Step 1: Separate the MacBook from all the outsourced devices excluding the power supply.
  • Step 2: Switch off the MacBook.
  • Step 3: Press and Hold ‘Key D’ to switch on the MacBook.
  • Step 4: You’ll see an option of language preference displayed on the screen so release the Key D and choose the language of your choice.
